Even the slightest of mishaps and slip-ups prove to be more embarrassing when you are at the top of the football world. This unfortunately happened to be the case with Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe, whose X account was hacked, only for a sleuth of controversial posts to be added.
Mbappe’s official X account was an unfortunate victim to the muse of hackers, as a handful of posts, ranging from footballing opinions, to views on Israel and Palestine, to a seemingly possible crypto scam were all uploaded onto the platform.
The posts have since then been deleted, but here is a look at all that was posted from the French superstar’s hacked account:
When Real Madrid announced the signing of Kylian Mbappe earlier this summer, the footballing world all hailed Los Balncos for ushering in yet another era of domination for the club.
The Frenchman joined forces with other superstars like Vinicius Jr., Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, and Fede Valverde, and it looked as if there was going to be no stopping the Madrid side from unleashing hell upon their opponents, no matter who it was.
Things began in a perfect manner for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner as he scored on his debut for Real Madrid against Atalanta, helping the team win the UEFA Super Cup – his first trophy at the club.
However, in the two weeks that have followed, Mbappe has been unable to build on that as he is yet to open his goalscoring account in La Liga, having put in two uncharacteristically silent showings against Mallorca and Real Valladolid.
And it is not just the present tht haunts Mbappe, but his past as well, as he remains in a heated legal battle with PSG.
According to a report by the French newspaper Le Monde, there is a dispute with the PSG shareholders, the Qatari Sports Investment where Mbappe is demanding payment of 55 million Euros which is yet to be paid as per his previous contract with the club.
The report suggested that out of the 55 million euros, 36 million of it is from his signing bonus which he was supposed to receive in February, the last three months of wages as per his contract and an ‘ethical bonus’ for the three months as well.
Since Mbappe is yet to receive the amount, the Frenchman has taken the legal route, referring the matter to the French Professional Football League (LFP) and, through the French Football Federation (FFF), to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
The LFP has the power to press a transfer ban via the legal team, and since the matter has been taken to UEFA as well, this could result in the club’s license being revoked, thus ending their participation in the ongoing Champions League campaign as well, at least until the matter has resolved for both parties.
