The world is full of unproven claims about the existence of aliens. There are many cases which often make us wonder, “Do aliens exist?” One such case, which bewildered the minds of ufologists and supported the notion of aliens inhabiting Earth, took place on October 21, 1978.

A 20-year-old pilot Frederick Valentich was flying from Moorabbin Airport in southern Melbourne, Australia to King Island. But after 45 minutes, the plane suddenly disappeared. Just before it disappeared, the pilot told the aviation traffic control team that he was flying approximately 1,000 feet altitude and was being chased by an unknown aircraft. However, after investigation, it was revealed that there was no aircraft which was following the plane of Frederick Valentich. Ufologists claim that it was aliens who hijacked Frederick’s plane. The aircraft has not been found yet.

According to the Metro report, audio of Frederick’s last conversation with the pilot still exists, in which his voice was heard. In his last dialogue with air traffic control, he reportedly said ‘this is not a plane’ followed by a long and loud noise. The signal to the pilot was lost.

At that time the plane was flying over a strait triangle in the ocean between Victoria and Tasmania, which was notorious for the disappearance of ships and planes. Frederick was a 4-star rated pilot hence the possibility of not identifying the aircraft was negligible, as experts claim.

On the day of the incident, Frederick left for King Island in a light plane. He told the officers that he was going to pick up his friends and would get a crayfish on his way back. As per reports, at 7 pm he radioed Melbourne Flight Service that an unknown aircraft was following him at an altitude of 4,500 feet. Four bright lights are also installed in it, he added. Frederick told them that the greenlight was reflecting from the aircraft and was moving forward at a fast pace. Then ATR officials told him that there were no other aircraft on that route. Before losing contact, Frederick told the aviation control that there was a problem with his engine. After a few moments, the contact with Frederick was lost.

Five years later, in 1983, an engine cowl flap was found floating on Flinders Island. The serial number showed that it was a Cessna 182 aircraft, which had departed with Frederick. The investigation is still underway.
