Watch: Service Dog Goes Above And Beyond To Comfort His Human In Hospital
While the hospital restricted the family's presence beyond visiting hours, the service dog received special permission to stay 24/7.

Dogs hold a special place in our hearts, proving time and again why they are called man’s best friends. Meet Magnus, an extraordinary service dog, who is making headlines. When Magnus’ owner, Brian Benson, faced a serious heart condition, this furry hero stepped up and provided more than just comfort. While the hospital restricted family and friends presence beyond visiting hours, the service dog received special permission to stay with Brian for the whole time. In a video circulating online, Magnus’ warm cuddles and silly antics lifted Brian’s spirits throughout the surgery. The furry friend not only brought happiness but also played a crucial role in keeping Brian relaxed and distracted from the challenging period.

In the video, the owner explained, “My dog stayed with me in the hospital. I was admitted because I was having chest pains and trouble breathing. This was very concerning, especially because I have a family history of heart disease. I was in the ER for three days for both observation and for the doctors to run countless tests. Because Magnus is also my service dog, he was allowed to stay with me. Having him there helped not only me, but he calmed my daughters as well. Magnus being with me 24/7 meant more to me than he will ever know. I’m beyond grateful for my boy.”

Since the video was shared on Instagram, it has gone viral and garnered over 6 million views. Viewers are expressing their emotions, as many are touched by Magnus’ care and showering love on the service dog.

A user wrote, “I’m in love with Magnus.”

Another shared, “I’m glad you have such a wonderful support system.”

“I’m convinced, dogs are proof that there is a loving, all powerful and all knowing CREATOR. Dogs are angels with fur,” a comment read.

An individual shared, “That boy is pure love, you be good to him.”

One more added, “Dogs sure are there to help when difficult situations arrive. So glad he was allowed to be with you & help you through this difficult time.”

Brian Benson shared additional details about his health condition and revealed that the hospital kept him for three days to conduct numerous tests. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, indicating that his heart is weak. Despite following a healthy lifestyle, including working out, eating healthy food and participating in various marathons and races, Benson highlighted that sometimes genetic factors play an important role and individuals may develop cardiomyopathy randomly.
