Escalators have become quite common in shopping complexes and other commercial spaces. Not only is it convenient, it also is easy to navigate between floors without having to take the stairs and getting exhausted at the end of the day. You can also find this facility in airports and railway stations as it helps people travelling with a lot of luggage. A recent viral video will make you realise how important it is to stay alert while climbing such escalators. A little girl’s feet got stuck in the moving staircase. Looking at the video, you will be left, wondering what happened next.
The viral video has been grabbing a lot of attention on the internet as it throws light on the importance of maintaining precaution on escalators and being super vigilant with children aboard. The clip begins with a seven-year-old girl getting on the escalator. She can be seen putting her feet at the very edge, and the next moment, she starts screaming loudly in pain. The video shows that her foot got stuck in the escalator and people rushed to stop it. One woman, presumably her mother or guardian, tries to take her foot out of it, and a person dressed as a clown rushed to push the stop button of the elevator.

As soon as it stops, the woman asks the child to relax. The technicians at the mall reach there and try to help out the little girl by putting in an iron rod at the edge of the elevator and trying to create a gap for her foot to pull it out. Finally, the little girl’s foot came out but she sustained an external skin injury. Despite the injuries, her foot is intact and she is currently recovering.
The in-text read, “A 7-year-old girl’s foot was caught in a gap in the escalator and the clown rushed to stop the elevator.” The clip further informed, “The hospital diagnosed the little girl with an external skin injury to her left toe. She is currently recovering at home.”
Users were shocked to see the clip. While many questioned the guardians a few were surprised to see a ‘clown’ rushing to help. A comment read, “Happy for the clown, but sad that the guardians were useless.” Another wrote, “An actual clown was not on my list of assumptions.” One more commented, “How the hell are parents so careless? Watch your kids, especially on escalators!”
The video has amassed more than 2 million views on Instagram.
