DJ Khaled recently grabbed the limelight for all the wrong reasons. The singer and record producer has been facing criticism after a video surfaced online showing him being carried by his two bodyguards to avoid getting his Nike Air Jordan sneakers dirty. The incident reportedly took place at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival in Florida, US, where Khaled was attending to promote his upcoming album.
In the video posted on Instagram, Khaled is seen opening his car door and then asking his bodyguards for help to avoid messing up his sneakers. The bodyguards then carry him to a golf cart, from where he is transported to the stage.
Once at the stage, the bodyguards carry him again to the side steps. Khaled can be heard thanking them and mentioning that he didn’t want to “mess up the Js,” referring to his sneakers.

The video has received mixed reactions online, with some users criticising Khaled for his behaviour. One user called it “the stupidest thing” they had ever seen, while another suggested that Khaled could have worn sandals and put on his sneakers once he was on stage.
Some users expressed concern for the bodyguards, stating that it was unfair to make them carry Khaled for the sake of his sneakers. “I bet those security guards didn’t expect that in their job description. Really djkhaled?? I would rather bring another pair of shoes to wear than to do my crew like that too much wear and tear on their bodies just for a pair of shoes,” expressed one user.
“I have no respect you! This is ridiculous that a grown man would do this. He talks so much about god and behaves like this over a pair of shoes. Ridiculous!” commented another user.
Many users took to the comments section to express their disapproval of Khaled’s actions, with some calling it disrespectful and unnecessary.
“Was that necessary, that looked very stupid to me, rich people,” one user wrote. “How about wearing some sandals and putting on the Jordans before walking on stage?” said another.
Since being posted, the video has garnered almost 3 million views so far. As of now, there has been no official response to the backlash, and Khaled has not publicly addressed the criticism.
