Video Shows Thief Breaking Into Pub, Helping Himself To Drink And Slice Of Cake
According to BBC, the intruder opened a bottle of prosecco and enjoyed it with a slice of cake after breaking into the pub.

In a shocking incident, a man was caught on CCTV breaking into a pub and taking a moment to enjoy a drink. The Inn At Belfairs in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, UK shared footage on social media to help identify the intruder, and the videos have gone viral since. The CCTV recordings revealed the two key moments. In one video, the man is seen thrashing the billing counter drawer and stealing it. In the other clip, he is seen attempting to open a bottle of alcohol.

Sharing the videos on Facebook, the restaurant wrote, “DO YOU KNOW THIS MAN ? SHARE SHARE SHARE Let’s pull together and get social media finding this man. 2nd video released of him stealing the first till drawer. This pathetic excuse of a human broke into our restaurant last night at 2.13 am and went backwards and forwards taking bits out of the restaurant. The videos gained significant traction online, sparking a range of reactions in the comment section. One user remarked, “Surely somebody knows him? I cannot help thinking he looks familiar, I’m sorry it happened to your place." Another user wrote, “I’m around this area everyday and delivering as you know. Will keep my eyes open! He’s got to be local.! Sorry to hear about this." “So sorry to see this guy, he looks a right weirdo the way he is walking. Thieving git," an individual commented.

A person expressing their frustration wrote, “He looks completely off his nut which is a real general problem!! That is awful and so sorry this has happened to you!! I’ve always enjoyed my time here and you always deliver excellent customer service and have worked so hard to get it to where it is. Hope he is caught!!"

The pub owner, Greg Weller, revealed to BBC that the intruder also helped himself to “couscous, a prawn and beetroot sauce" before removing the till from the bar. According to the Essex Police, the incident is being investigated as burglary.

Weller also mentioned that the man took the items to the venue’s terrace, located on Eastwood Road North, and consumed them there. “As owners, it’s disheartening when you’ve worked so hard to have someone come along and think this is OK," Weller added.

The police have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
