Not everyone we tend to date turns out to be our perfect match, right? There should be mutual admiration, understanding, trust and willingness to be with each other in order to keep a relationship healthy as well as long-lasting. A devoted partner must be attentive and have enough time for their respective loved ones. The lack of time for each other may result in the end of a romantic relationship. Don’t believe us? Recently, a woman flew over 5,000 miles (around 8,000 kilometres) to meet a man for her first date. They chose to be ‘just friends’ following their meeting. Reason, you may ask? The man spent his maximum time while working and using his phone.

The 35-year-old woman Kayleigh Castle, who hails from the United Kingdom, decided to walk an extra mile to ensure that her promising first date was memorable. As per a report published in the New York Post, Castle flew from London to San Francisco to meet him. Upon reaching there, the woman realised that something was off soon after the duo spent time with each other.

Castle, reportedly, met the unidentified man at a bar in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The duo, in Mexico, were vacationing last autumn. Earlier this year in February, the professional life coach decided to fly halfway across the world to meet the guy, wondering whether it could turn into something more than casual dating. The man also sent him an invitation to the Golden State, where he resided.

As the duo met, they explored the beautiful city of Carmel-by-the-Sea and the surrounding coastline south of San Francisco. Soon, everything started to go wrong. The woman was quoted by the New York Post as saying, “He booked my flights, asked what I wanted to do – we went wine tasting, we went on a nice coastal drive – and then I came back home.”

She further explained that the man was always busy with work and was least interested in exploring the picturesque locations with her. She added, “I love walking but he wanted to stay in the car on his phone. Walking …that is my quality time – but he was working and going to the bar.”

The woman, disappointed with the man’s behaviour, decided to call off the romantic relationship that they shared. Now, they have decided to be friends with each other. She said, “We have decided just to stay friends, dating is evaluating, it is over time you get to know everyone. We’re still in touch and we had a lot of fun but we have decided to be friends.”

What's your reaction?
