‘Transgender Operations on Illegal Aliens’: Internet Visualises Donald Trump’s Jibe at Kamala Harris

Vice President Kamala Harris and former US President Donald Trump faced off for the first time in a high-stakes presidential debate hosted by ABC in Philadelphia on Tuesday night. During the debate, Republican nominee Trump was ranting about crime, Minneapolis, oil drilling, guns, and so forth when he mentioned two words that became fodder for memes on the Internet. The 78-year-old said “transgender” and “aliens” in one single sentence and the Internet has since been having a field day.

“Now she wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison. This is a radical-left liberal…,” said Trump during the debate as Harris looked at him with a bemused smile.

This particular clip soon went viral on the Internet and X users gave Trump the much-deserved meme-able shoutout. An individual asked, “Does anyone want to hang out this weekend to do transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison this weekend my mom said I can bring a friend.”

Another user humorously summarised a day in the life of an immigrant from Trump’s perspective: “Wake up in jail, get your transgender operation, for breakfast, dog, take over Seattle, for dinner, cat.”

So, who won the debate? If a CNN poll of debate watchers conducted by SSRS is to be believed, 63% of registered voters felt that Harris delivered a better performance, compared to 37% who thought Trump performed better.
