'Scary': Couple Jumps Off 90-ft Gorge After Train 'Interrupts' Their Photoshoot in Rajasthan
Couple on photoshoot jumps off railway bridge after train approaches and 'intervenes' their photoshoot.

In today’s world, where shooting reels and snapping photos have become the norm, common sense and safety often take a backseat. This was strikingly evident in a recent incident from Rajasthan’s Pali, where a couple caught up in a photoshoot on a railway bridge ignored an approaching train, leaving them injured.

A viral video shows the couple standing on the edge of the railway bridge as the train approached.

According to reports, Rahul Mewada (22) and his wife Jahnvi (20), from Kalal Ki Pipaliyan in Bagdi Nagar, ventured to Gormghat by bike. They decided to have a photoshoot on the heritage bridge designed for the meter gauge train. However, their session was abruptly interrupted by a train. In a panic, the couple jumped from the bridge, resulting in significant injuries. Rahul was later transferred to Jodhpur for further treatment due to severe spinal injuries, while Jahnvi is being treated for a leg fracture at Bangar Hospital.

The couple was accompanied by Rahul’s sister and brother-in-law, who managed to escape unscathed by running away when they saw the train approaching.

Senior Commercial Divisional Manager of Ajmer Railway Division, Sunil Kumar Mahala, commented on the incident, stating that the train’s loco pilot had begun braking upon spotting the couple on the bridge. Despite the train halting on the bridge, the couple’s fear led them to jump, resulting in their injuries.

No doubt, stunts for a few likes and social media clout have become a disturbing trend, putting safety at risk. Earlier, a viral video showed a girl dangling from the top of an abandoned building as a boy held her hand, with another person recording from different angles. This clip was reportedly taken near the Swaminarayan Mandir in Jambhulwadi, Pune. These incidents underline the perilous lengths some people will go to for social media fame, often with little regard for their own safety or the potential consequences of their actions.
