MP Man Orders iPhone 15 From Flipkart's 'Republic Day Sale', Receives Defective Device Instead
Flipkart Republic Day Sale: A man from Madhya Pradesh allegedly receives a 'defective' iPhone 15, shares video in viral post.

Flipkart’s ‘Republic Day Sale’ kicked off on January 14 for the masses and a day earlier, on January 13, for the elite Flipkart Plus members. However, the sale seems to be revealing its ‘true colours’ to unsuspecting shoppers who hoped for discounts but found themselves facing unexpected ‘disadvantages.’ A resident of Madhya Pradesh, Ajay Rajawat, alleged that despite utilising his early access advantage, he received a fake and defective iPhone 15 instead of a genuine product.

Rajawat, who posted an unboxing video on X, expressed his frustration, stating, “I ordered iPhone 15 from Flipkart on 13th Jan and I got it on 15th Jan but Flipkart has done fraud they have delivered defective iPhone15 and box packaging was also fake. Now they are not replacing,”.” He included the order ID in his post.

In a subsequent tweet, Rajawat shared a photo of the iPhone, which displayed a message indicating an inability to verify the authenticity of the Apple battery. He claimed that the phone was not charging properly. Seeking assistance from Flipkart, a customer care executive responded, “My deepest apologies for your experience with the order. You can count on us to resolve your concern. Please share your order ID with us through a private chat for the privacy of your Flipkart account… Please do not respond to fake social media handles impersonating our brand to safeguard your interactions..”

As the post gained traction, others also began expressing doubts about the phone’s packaging, with many sharing similar experiences. One user recounted, “I ordered iphone 15 during the same time and i was facing late delivery issue with iphone. Then somebody posing as Flipkart support @flipkartsupport called me up, said they’ll troubleshoot the problem. They hacked my phone, canceled my flipkart order and duped me of 30000 rupees.” Another suggested, “For me seal was same and looks like genuine to me for battery contact apple support (they are very supportive), if it turns out fake, file complaint with consumer forum. I think it may be a software glitch restore the phone once.”

In a parallel incident, another Flipkart customer from Madhya Pradesh, who purchased a laptop worth Rs 1.13 lakh during the Republic Day sale, asserted that he received an old, dusty model instead. Souro Mukherjee, who had the delivery agent unbox the laptop while recording the process, emphasised that this experience had taught him never to trust products ordered from e-commerce websites.
