Not all heroes wear capes. Some are ordinary people who do extraordinary things or go the extra mile for the sake of their loved ones. Thanks to the internet, we often come across videos that show humans displaying acts of bravery to protect those who they care about. If anything, such acts are a clear indication that humanity reigns supreme. In one such similar demonstration of courage and kindness, a viral video of a man putting his own life at risk to save a clutch of goose eggs from a deadly snake has equally shocked and impressed the internet.
Shared on Instagram, the caption read, “All in a day’s work.” The video opens with the sad visuals of a black snake coiled over a goose egg, presumably trying to swallow it. Two geese stood beside their eggs inside a dug-out field looking tensed and helpless. It was evident that the birds were anxious about the fate of their eggs as the predator continued to apply pressure on them. Defenceless against the slithering reptile, the geese looked up as if asking for help.
The video was recorded inside a house through a glass window where some men discussed the incident. Someone stated that snakes first applied pressure on eggs to hatch them open before gobbling them up. That’s when one of the men decided to intervene to save the poor eggs and the geese. Without thinking twice about his own life, he approached the winded reptile. Cautiously, the man grabbed the nape of the snake and took it out on the lawn. He walked away from the geese and their eggs to release the snake in the woods. The video concluded with the happy and relieved geese scooting over their eggs to see whether they were alright.
Social media users heaped praise on the man for his brave act. “These guys are all green flags,” noted an individual. Another called it an “excellent job”. “Now THIS is what makes a man sexy! Well done gentlemen,” lauded a person. “You are their HEROES” read an appreciatory remark.
