IT Minister Turns Santa Claus For This Class 4 Student, Sends Laptop

Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar recently made a boy’s day by gifting him a laptop. The nine-year-old met the minister on a Vande Bharat train. In a video, shared by news agency ANI on X (formerly Twitter), Sriram can be seen unboxing the laptop. He was joined by his mother. A few seconds later, a person is seen walking him through the features and specifications of the laptop. The note attached to the clip read, “Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar sent a laptop for Sriram, a class 4th student whom he once met while travelling in the Vandebharat train and promised to give him a laptop.”

Rajeev Chandrasekhar too retweeted the video and said, “I had met young 9 year-old Sriram on a train ride from Thrissur to Kozhikode and he had proudly shown me his creative videos done on his laptop. I had promised him a new laptop and today he got his new year gift in advance – a brand new Laptop. My best wishes to him & his family and may he continue to study, succeed and make his family proud.”

Speaking to the agency, Sriram said, “I was surprised to see Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. He promised to gift me a laptop and a trip to the computer technology park. I was so happy.” He also got a chocolate box along with the electronic device.
