Iraqi Woman Undergoes 43 Surgeries; Here's Why
She faced backlash and trolls who believed she looked nothing like nothing near to what she thought.

People have some wild fantasies and many of them are spending a fortune to live those fantasies. Some of these fantasies, while appealing to them, might sound excessive to others. Most of us could not fathom going under the knife 43 times to look like our favourite character but 29-year-old Baghdad native Dalia Naeem has done exactly that. Move over Margot Robbie and make way for Dalia, who has had 43 surgeries, to transform into a living Barbie Doll. An actress and presenter by profession, Dalia now has an impressive 995,000 Instagram followers. Dalia shares regular photos and videos of herself showing off her face and blonde look. While she is enjoying her Barbie life, not all are amused.

Dalia faces her share of backlash from trolls who believe she looks nothing like a Barbie doll but instead resembles a zombie. Many have said she looked creepy with one even commenting that she needs ‘help from God’.

But no feedback is negative though. After her photos and videos went viral, some have also dubbed her ‘ Iraq’s Barbie’. Her many surgeries included a breast enlargement and topping up of her lip filler. She is quite famous in Iraq, due to having appeared in many plays and Iraqi TV shows. She became famous worldwide after starting to post photos of herself online. Dalia is never tired of praising people who help her reach her ideal appearance. She compliments the beautician who works with her, saying, ‘Your make-up is Barbie’ Dalia says she does not care much about negative comments so long as she is getting to live her dream and the ideal life.

Dalia is not alone in her pursuit of living in a Barbie world. 33-year-old nurse Tara Jayne McConachy from Melbourne, Australia earlier made headlines for spending Rs 57,50,429 on surgeries to look like a Barbie doll. She travels and visits foreign clinics instead of Australian ones since she is prohibited from undergoing surgeries in Australia because of her excessive number of procedures.
