One of the donkey owners Tukaram said that it has been three to four days since the disappearance of the donkeys.

Cases of missing people are reported almost regularly. Across the country, there are decades of unsolved cases involving people being missing, some even declared dead. But a Madhya Pradesh case is immensely intriguing because it involves missing animals.

As per the reports of Local18, the case is from the district of Burhanpur, MP, according to which more than a dozen monkeys were stolen from families. The owners of the animals complained to the Kotwali police station. The police are now scanning through 500 CCTV cameras to catch the culprits.

One of the donkey owners Tukaram, talked to Local18 about the matter. According to him, it has been three to four days since the disappearance of the donkeys. Due to rain, they decided to let the donkeys out of the house. But when they did not return, the owners decided to lodge a police complaint. The donkeys belonged to more than a dozen people, which included five to six Prajapati families. Speaking further, they revealed that a single donkey costs around Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000.

Aditya Prajapati, another owner stated that they rear the donkeys themselves. The animals are then utilised for carrying bricks and mud and are given fodder and water twice a day. They are tied to their homes and made to stay inside.

However, in the last week more than a dozen donkeys have unexpectedly disappeared, belonging to a group of people. The Local18 team talked to the Kotwali police station in-charge Sitaram Solanki, who detailed the situation of the case. According to him, the residents of Shikarpura, Pratappura and Seelampura areas filed the missing complaint for their animals. So far, they have scanned CCTV footage of the areas to find a lead or a clue on the case.
