Chef's latest masterpiece has earned him comparisons to a real-life Willy Wonka, as he raised the bar by making a detailed and functional train engine.

As the festive season approaches, preparations for Christmas have started worldwide and French-Swiss chef Amaury Guichon recently impressed social media with his remarkable creation, a chocolate train. Known for creating life sized cakes from chocolate, Guichon’s latest masterpiece has earned him comparisons to a real life Willy Wonka. In the stunning video, the chef raised the bar by making a detailed and functional train engine from chocolate. Sharing a video of the chocolate train, Guichon revealed its intricate details, like the traditional black and red colour, resembling the Harry Potter series’ iconic train, along with a number 23 on the side.

Guichon began his creativity by constructing the engine’s large rectangular structures and front cylindrical parts. As he carefully assembled the train, he closed the front section and made the wheels and even added minute details like a tiny ladder for boarding. He then used edible food colours like black, red and gold and for the final touch, he added a stunning golden bell and a unique feature that released smoke from the top, just like a vintage locomotive. Sharing the video, Guichon wrote, “Chocolate Train. All aboard. Next stop Christmas.”

Since Amaury Guichon shared his latest chocolate creation, the video quickly went viral, garnered over 2 million views and received widespread praise, even catching the attention of popular British chef Gordon Ramsay who liked it. Enthusiastic social media users appreciated the details of the chocolate train, comparing Guichon’s work with Willy Wonka and Harry Potter’s iconic train.

A user called the chef, “Willy Wonka in real life.”

Another wrote, “It looks like the Hogwarts Express.”

“If I hadn’t watched it being made, it would have taken you a while to convince me that this was a cake,” a comment read.

Another shared, “I’m just wondering what if it melted.”

An individual wrote, “The Wonka Express.”

One more added, “The fact that there is “steam” coming out. Incredible work as always.”

Earlier in an interview with Mashed, talking about his chocolate creations, Amaury Guichon shared, “Most showpieces are done within four days of work, for the most elaborate ones with a ton of details, such as the motorcycle, et cetera, it can go up to seven days. But I’m always excited about the next project. So I could not work on a one-month showpiece. I don’t think I could, like, mentally do it. I like to start, I love the process, but I love to see the end result and one month would be too long.”

In addition to his recent chocolate train, Guichon’s previous works includes an electric car, a teddy bear, a bike, various animal figures and an edible Stormtrooper helmet.
