In a world that often feels overrun by materialism, kindness stands as the beacon that keeps humanity afloat. This was beautifully illustrated when a man found a lost iPhone on a Bengaluru road and went to great lengths to return it to its rightful owner. Sharing his adventure on Reddit, the man recounted his journey from discovering the shattered iPhone to finally reuniting it with its owner, leaving the online community both impressed and touched.
Posting on the ‘Bangalore’ subreddit under the username @IcyRefrigerator9291, the kind stranger shared, “Just found a iphone near Silk board road. If it is your then don’t worry call on this phone and I will dunzo to you. I’ll keep it charged.” He soon updated that the phone appeared to have been run over by a vehicle, as it was shattered from all sides.
Despite his best efforts, the phone remained unresponsive for three hours due to a restart, with no network or Siri activation. Considering his options, the original poster (OP) decided to hand the phone over to the police. However, just as he was about to leave, he thought of checking the SIM card. It was intact. “I thought for a second, and In good faith of helping someone, Took the risk of inserting the sim card in my second phone. My second phone was discharged, so I charged it a bit and turned it on and then Bammmm…!!! 100+ missed call messages from Jio,” he shared.

Soon after, he received a call from a friend of the phone’s owner. Arrangements were made to meet at Forum Mall, where he returned the phone to a grateful group of people from Kerala. The owner, who had been fired from his job and was preparing to leave the city, was visibly emotional. “He was shaking and shivering once I reach there and handed him the phone. Phone had wallpaper of his deceased father,” the OP detailed. In gratitude, the group treated him to a meal at Burger King. “I think we became friends,” he concluded, urging everyone to be kind.
