Bengaluru-based entrepreneur Anuradha Tiwari courted controversy on social media after she posted a picture of herself flexing triceps with two words, “Brahmin genes.” After the post went viral, the term “Brahmin genes” started trending on X (formerly Twitter). While many came out in her support, others urged her to stop promoting casteism. Now, in her latest social media post, Tiwari has urged people to “end the hatred” against “Brahmin genes”.
“Are Brahmins the new Jews of India? False portrayal of Brahmins as oppressors is being dangerously normalised. We can’t proudly say who we are,” wrote Tiwari in a post on X.

Earlier, she shared a post on X and asked, “In the last 24 hours, thousands have proudly declared their Brahmin identity, trending #BrahminGenes. But how many politicians shared it? When it’s time to stand up for Brahmins, they vanish. Is Brahmin hate intentional? Are Brahmins being made scapegoats for petty politics?”
She even doubled her stance on the “Brahmin genes” post, saying, “As expected, a mere mention of the word ‘Brahmin’ triggered many inferior beings. This reveals who the real casteists are. UCs receive nothing from the system—no reservations, no freebies. We earn everything on our own and have every right to be proud of our lineage. So, deal with it,” Tiwari wrote on X.
Author Chetan Bhagat also weighed in, suggesting that the focus on caste issues could be politically motivated. “The more caste is brought up, the more the consolidated Hindu vote breaks. Opposition has understood this and is playing that game. And yes, even that #BrahminGenes trend is splitting the Hindu vote. Don’t know if people realise that,” Bhagat stated.
Tiwari quoted Bhagat’s post and wrote, “Is hatred against Brahmins uniting Hindus? Is Reservation uniting Hindus? Is the Caste Census uniting Hindus? But when Brahmins decide to take a stand for themselves, suddenly, Hindu unity is in danger.”
The mechanical engineer turned entrepreneur even claimed that people from her community fear while revealing their full names. “Brahmins today fear revealing their full name. So much hatred has been spread against us. We have been made villains by social justice activists & politicians. We don’t harm anyone. We get no help from govt. We work hard. Why should we be ashamed of our caste?”
She even shared a post on the “condition” of Brahmins in the country. It read, “Fairytale of Brahmins in India- Born, study hard, lose college seat despite scoring top marks, no hope of govt job, thanks to reservation, work in private sector, pay most taxes, no help from govt, get abused daily by activists, treated as 3rd class citizens, die.”
