18-year-old Arrested For Planting Hidden Camera In New Jersey Mall Restroom

In a shocking revelation, an 18-year-old boy named Andy Cardenas was arrested on October 1, by the police in New Jersey, USA for planting a camera in the toilet of the mall. This whole matter was revealed on August 9, when an adult woman discovered a black device while using the family restroom located on the first floor of JC Penney, confirmed by the Hudson County prosecutor’s office in a press release. She immediately handed over the camera to the administration after her discovery, leading to the investigation by the officials.

Authorities reviewed the footage obtained through a communications data warrant and discovered numerous videos of people in the camera. However, the police reached out to the culprit, after they saw his face in one of the videos, where he was setting up the camera inside the JC Penney toilet. This led to his arrest and identification.

The officials have also confirmed that multiple electronic and digital files were recovered from the recording device, which contained images from several unidentified restrooms. The Special Victims Unit is asking for public help to identify the location of the restrooms. However, the culprit has his first court appearance, tentatively scheduled for October 22.

Not only this, but many such incidents come to light. Last month, a 30-year-old man from Shakarpur was arrested for allegedly filming and installing cameras in a lady’s bedroom. A case under section 77 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered at the Shakarpur Police Station. This 36-year-old woman, a Civil Service aspirant, had been staying alone in the house for the past several months. While going out of the city, she used to hand over the keys of her room to her landlord’s son, Karan, who installed the cameras. The woman suspected him and found the hidden cameras in the bulb holders of her bedroom. The police had said that the cameras could not be operated online as these were fitted with memory cards to store videos. During the investigation, another spy camera was recovered from Karan, along with two laptops in which he had stored the recorded videos, confirmed by the officials.
