Xiaomi recently entered the Air Purifier market in India with its new product. Now their campaign against air pollution goes a step further as they announced the launch of a new “Cloth Pear Fresh Air Mask”.

The hand sewn mask is made up of a high-grade textile and apparently has materials that achieve a PM2.5 filtration efficiency of 99 percent.

The company claims that in theory, this filter can filter out visible smoke particles, which measure around 7 micrometers in size.

The mask houses a thin fan that sucks air and you can adjust the fan speed by a button. There are filters on the masks that can be replaced.

This air filter also packs in a Li-ion battery that the company claims can last up to 5 hours. The 50 gram air mask has been put on sale for CNY 89 (approximately Rs 8900) per unit on Xiaomi's crowdfunding site.

The Xiaomi Air Mask will be delivered to the funding backers on 20 December 2016. Xiaomi has not commented on whether they will sell the mask commercially in near future.
