Leaked images have already given us hints as to how the first ever Android phone 'Venice' from BlackBerry would look like and now this video uploaded by Canadian phone reseller Baka Mobile shows the much-discussed phone in action. This 4-minute long video gives us more than just a sneak peek into the phone. The evaluation unit shown in the video clearly features how the phone would look, what all it would come with, and what would be its highlights.
Here's all the video tells us about BlackBerry's first Android phone.
1. The phone will have a mammoth screen with a slider QWERTY keyboard. It appears to have a "tap to wake" feature.
2. BlackBerry seems to have maintained the essence of stock Andorid. While the software seems to have been tweaked with BlackBerry's own layer atop and proprietary apps installed, it apparently doesn't run a heavily modified version of Android like what we had seen in Nokia's Android phones.
3. Just like a BlackBerry passport, the keyboard features biometric sense touch. So, you would be able to swipe up and down the keyboard to scroll up and down the screen.
4. It looks that BlackBerry has kept Google Chrome as the default browser on the phone.
5. The video hints that the BlackBerry Hub messaging centre would be at the centre of this Android phone.
6. The phone seems to be ergonomically designed irrespective of how it is used - open or closed. It would have a thin profile.
7. The phone would have a slot for microSD card for additional storage.
