Samsung Galaxy S24 series has been unveiled this week and all eyes are excited to check out the new Galaxy S24 Ultra which is the flagship model from the company. The new device carries the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset but you also have titanium making its debut on the frame and the company moving back to a flat display.
In addition to these changes, you also get an all-new Corning Gorilla Armor glass which looks to change the appeal and functionality of the screen for users.
It seems Samsung and Corning have worked on the new material that not only offers durability but also increases the readability under sunlight. “Gorilla Armor offers an unparalleled combination of durability and visual clarity, delivering a richer display in sunlight and greater protection against damage caused by daily wear,” Samsung pointed out in this post.
So, what is so special about this glass and how does it exactly offer better durability? Samsung says, compared to a typical glass surface, the Armor glass reduces reflection by up to 75 percent, which enhances display readability and minimises screen reflections in almost any environment, the post adds. We’ll have to test the phone to see if these tall claims stand true and whether the screen can actually withstand daily wear with less damage.
The company has gone for a flat display on the Galaxy S24 which aids the screen material changes and allows people to get more out of the screen no matter where they are. It will be interesting to see the Armor glass make its way to other brands later this year.
