New Delhi: Motorola has announced that its latest Moto E smartphone will no longer be exclusive to Flipkart and will be also sold on e-commerce platforms Amazon and Snapdeal.

Since its introduction in 2014, the entry-level Moto E had been offered only through the online portal.

However, in a bid to move away from its online-only sales model in India, Motorola is not only embracing other online platforms to sell its popular smartphone, but also offering the 4G LTE variant at select Airtel stores across the country.

The first Moto E, when launched last year, was touted as the cheapest Android KitKat-powered in the market priced at Rs 6,999. It came with 4.3-inch display, 1.2Ghz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM, and 4GB internal storage. It further included a 5 megapixel rear camera and supported dual SIM.

Over the year, Motorola has brought out successors to the entry-level smartphone with 3G (currently priced Rs 5,999) and 4G LTE (currently priced Rs 6,999) variants.

The 3G variant is powered by Android Lollipop and comes with a front snapper. It is powered by a 2390mAh battery. The 4G LTE variant, on the other hand, features a slightly bigger 4.5-inch display and improved Snapdragon 400 processor.

Announcing the expansion, Motorola Mobility India, General Manager, Amit Boni, said, “Responding to growing demand from our consumers we have made a strategic move of increasing the availability of our portfolio across offline and multiple online shopping platforms. To start off, we will be available at select stores for our consumers to experience and purchase the device. Consumers are at the heart of whatever we do and we will leave no stone unturned to enhance their buying experiences.”

The Moto E 3G/4G LTE model will start selling on Amazon India and Snapdeal from September 25.
