Apple Vision Pro Headset Coming To Nine New Countries This Month: Will It Come To India?
Apple confirmed the news at the WWDC 2024 keynote this week, as it looks to increase the demand for its premium mixed reality headset.

Apple is bringing the Vision Pro headset to more countries over the next few weeks. In fact, the company is taking its premium mixed reality headset to 9 new countries this month which includes China mainland, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Canada, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

As per the company, Vision Pro seamlessly blends digital content with the physical world to deliver powerful spatial experiences that transform the way people work, collaborate, connect, relive memories, enjoy entertainment, and much more.

Pre-orders in China, Hong Kong and Singapore for the Vision Pro will begin on June 13 at 6 pm PT, and the availability will begin from June 28 onwards. While customers from other countries can pre-order the device from June 28, with the availability beginning July 12.

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said in a statement, “The enthusiasm for Apple Vision Pro has been extraordinary, and we are thrilled to introduce the magic of spatial computing to more customers around the world. We can’t wait for more people to see the impossible become possible, whether working and collaborating with an infinite canvas for apps, reliving treasured memories in three dimensions, watching TV shows and movies in a one-of-a-kind personal cinema, or enjoying brand-new spatial experiences that defy imagination,” as per Apple.

The Vision Pro made its debut earlier this year and went on sale in the United States priced at $3,499 (approx. Rs 2.92 Lakh).

The decision to expand its availability could be linked to several reports that suggested Apple’s XR headset is facing issued with low demand and opinion about its first-gen headset. Apple had initially set its sights on delivering almost 800,000 units of Vision Pro headset. However, reports claim the company has now reduced the production of the Vision Pro headset to 400,000 units for this year.

Apple Vision Pro is powered by the visionOS operating system. The company will be unveiling the visionOS 2 later this year which will come with several big features for the customers.

These features include intuitive hand gestures to easily access the Home View and important information at a glance; new capabilities for Mac Virtual Display, Travel Mode, and Guest User; enhancements to Mindfulness, Safari, and the Apple TV app; and much more, as per Apple. The Vision Pro comes in three storage variants of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB in the market. We have also heard reports about the Vision Pro launching in India soon but that could now be pushed to Q4 2024 going by the latest news from the company.
