New Delhi: Repair firm iFixit, which has opened up the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, says that both the new iPhones keep up the decent work and have scored 7 out of 10 on the repairability scale.
Hardware experts at iFixit have discovered that the battery capacity in the new iPhones has gone down "a bit", probably to accommodate new features. Nevertheless, Apple claims that the battery life is unchanged in the new phones. The display assembly in the iPhone 6s, on the other hand, has gained 15 grams compared to the iPhone 6.
Battery and screen repairs are fairly straightforward, but the Touch ID cable is paired to the logic board, complicating repairs, says iFixit.
The new iPhones use chips made by, among others, Qualcomm, Avago Technologies Ltd, Qorvo's TriQuint Semiconductor and RF Micro Devices, Texas Instruments and Skyworks Solutions.
