Won't boycott Chidambaram in Parliament: BJP
BJP leader SS Ahluwalia said that they would be debating the Lokpal Bill in the budget session.

New Delhi: A day ahead of the crucial budget session, the Opposition NDA has on Sunday decided not to boycott Home Minsiter P Chidambaram in Parliament.

The Opposition would be looking to corner the government on the centre vs states issue, by forcing the discussions on the controversial National Counter Terror Centre (NCTC) and the functioning of the NIA.

BJP leader SS Ahluwalia said, "We will not be boycotting Chidambaram in the House anymore as we want a discussion on the NCTC and the functioning of the NIA."

The NDA is also looking to expand its ranks by including Subramanian Swamy's Janata Party as ally.

The decision to include Janata Party as an ally was taken at a meeting of NDA floor leaders ahead of the Budget session at the residence of BJP veteran LK Advani in New Delhi.

With this addition, the number of NDA allies will rise to six. The other five constituents of the combine are BJP, JD(U), Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiv Sena and Ramdas Athawale-led Republican Party of India (A).

The BJP leader also said that they would be debating the Lokpal Bill in the budget session.
