Lucknow: Caught on camera distributing money to policemen inside Allahabad's Naini Jail, Samajwadi Party MLA Vijay Mishra now claims he was repaying a loan.

Controversial ruling SP MLA Vijay Mishra said that the money which his daughter gave to policemen after his release on bail was actually a loan taken from them.

The minister, who came on the public dais after almost three years to attend Ashirwad rally, said that the incident was being presented in a "distorted manner".

Mishra, MLA from Gyanpur assembly seat, alleged that a conspiracy was hatched during the BSP regime to kill him and SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Mishra alleged that several BSP ministers lured him to join the party and on refusal he was jailed, where he was tortured for one and a half years.

Three warders of Naini Prison identified as Vijay Sonkar, Gulab and Rajkumar, were caught on camera accepting notes of Rs 500 denomination from the MLA's daughter Seema on Tuesday, as he walked free on bail, following which the policemen were suspended on Thursday.

As the footage, was aired by TV channels, leaving authorities red faced, the district police chief ordered an investigation into the episode.

Mishra, an accused in bomb attack on former BSP minister Nand Gopal Gupta alias Nandi in July 2010, was arrested from Delhi in February 2011.

He was released after his bail application was accepted by the Allahabad High Court on August 17 when it also ordered that the SP legislator "shall not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissuade him from disclosing such facts to the court or to any police officer or tamper with evidence".
