Lucknow: While the Samajwadi Party celebrated a landslide victory in the Uttar Pradesh polls on Tuesday, the family of 7-year-old Daan-e-alam, who died, is in a state of shock.
Hours after a historic Uttar Pradesh polls verdict history unfolded yet again. The pictures of stone pelting at journalists, allegedly by Samajwadi Party workers in Jhansi, a child dying after celebratory fire was opened by a SP MLA, indicative of the biggest challenge ahead for Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav in maintaining law and order.
Akhilesh promised strict action against party workers who went on a rampage as celebrations went out of hand.
"I will take action against those who were involved in the violence," Akhilesh said.
But that may be easier said than done, there is still a question mark on whether Akhilesh is really the leader in charge of SP. SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav knew how to deal with his own brothers and extended family members, now what about Akhilesh?
"Akhilesh has done well, his hard work has finally paid off. We won because of him," Mulayam said.
So for a leader who didn't shy away from speaking his mind out while cycling, mandate 2012 is an opportunity to take the next step, a step which could totally rewrite the political destiny of Uttar Pradesh.
