UP: BJP deploys Modi to undo Kushwaha damage
Apparently, most of the BJP members felt that only Narendra Modi could undo the damage done by the Kushwaha episode.

New Delhi: Apparently hoping to undo the damage the party has suffered because of the Kushwaha episode, the BJP has deployed Gujarat CM Narendra Modi for the UP Assembly election campaign. He is expected to start work from next week.

Although Modi will be among 40 star BJP campaigners, including LK Advani, leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj and film actress-turned-MP Hema Malini, party sources said his name was proposed by almost every BJP candidate.

"There was unrest among the candidates after Babu Kushwaha's induction because no one believed he was not involved in the NRHM scam.

"The voters also doubted the BJP's intentions in inducting tainted ministers. The candidates were of the view that only Modi could neutralise the adverse effect," a BJP leader said.
