Bangalore: Scotching rumours that former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa will not campaign for the party candidate in Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha byelection, Housing Minister V Somanna said that they have received instructions from the former to work for the success of the BJP nominee.
A confidant of the former chief minister, Somanna said that five days still remain for campaigning when Yeddyurappa will tour the Lok Sabha constituency. He added: "There is no doubt over the victory of our party. His success is guaranteed."
He informed that the BJP has a strong base in the LS constituency which was vacated by Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda. Dismissing reports that he had campaigned against the BJP during his previous visit to the constituency, he said: "The allegations are baseless."
