Shillong: Almost a month after his loss against President Pranab Mukherjee in the presidential elections, former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader PA Sangma is slated to launch a new political party on Friday.
Sangma's party will be called the National People's Party and as many as 13 NCP MLAs are likely to join it.
The symbol of the party is likely to be a book and it will soon seek recognition from the Election Commission.
According to an aide of the former Lok Sabha speaker, the new party will draw most of its members from the NCP.
