To boost air connectivity to Ayodhya and facilitate the arrival of pilgrims visiting the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday virtually flagged off eight new flight routes for the temple town.
The new flights will connect Ayodhya with Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Patna, Darbhanga, Mumbai and Bengaluru. This was done in wake of the increasing tourist demand after the recent inauguration of the Ram temple. The tourism potential of Ayodhya has laid a new path for economic and social development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in December last year. The airport is built at a cost of Rs 350 crore. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who was also present on the occasion, said successful air services had earlier commenced from Ayodhya to Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. He highlighted that the inauguration of the new airport signifies a promising future for Ayodhya.
