New Delhi: The new Railway Time Table will now come into effect from September 1 instead of July 1 this year.
Keeping in mind the possible announcement of new trains in the Rail Budget, to be presented on July 8, railways have decided to come out with a new time table in September.
"The new Railway National Time Table 'Trains at a Glance' and Zonal Railway Public Time Table will now come into effect from September 1, instead of July this year," said a senior Railway Ministry official.
It has been decided to extend the validity of the time table upto August 31, which was scheduled to expire on June 30, the official said.
While about 65 new trains were announced by the then Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge in the interim Rail Budget, the present Railway Minister Sadanand Gowda is also expected to announce some trains in his maiden budget.
Railways have asked passengers to consult existing Time Table or Railway Telephone Enquiry "139" regarding train timings.
