Narendra Modi's rally won't help BJP in Karnal, he thinks only about Gujarat, says Congress candidate
Congress's Narwal said that the reason Modi came to Karnal was that the BJP MLA candidate, Manohar Lal Khattar, is an 'outsider'.

Karnal: Days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi campaigned in Karnal for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Haryana Assembly polls, the Congress has called him a man who thinks only about Gujarat. Karnal Congress candidate Surender Singh Narwal questioned that if Modi really wanted to make Karnal a 'smart city', why does he not talk about it at the international level like Gujarat.

"Modi came to Karnal and spoke about making it a smart city. Then why is it that when he calls the Chinese President, he calls him to Ahmedabad? Why is it that he speaks to international investors only about Gujarat," Narwal asked.

"Modi is now the Prime Minister of India. Yet when he goes to international platforms, why does he call himself the son of Gujarat and not the son of India," he asked.

Speaking to IBNLive, Narwal also said that the reason Modi came to Karnal was that the BJP MLA candidate, Manohar Lal Khattar, is an 'outsider'. "Khattar is an outsider in Karnal. Even at Modi's rally here, people raised slogans like 'bahar bhgaao, Karnal bachao'. Khattar knows nothing about Karnal," Narwal said.

When asked whether Modi's rally could make a difference for the BJP, Narwal said, "There is no Modi wave now. This was clear in the recent bypolls in UP and even Gujarat. Local polls are not about Modi."
