Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is currently in custody following his arrest on multiple allegations, including hosting wild parties with top Hollywood stars. While many A-list celebrities have enjoyed his events in the past, some high profile figures, including members of the British Royal Family, have repeatedly turned down his invitations. According to BBC reports, Rob Shuter, a former associate of Diddy, revealed that the rapper was very much interested in the royals. He stated that both Prince Harry and Prince William had declined Diddy’s invitations at least 10 times. In order to impress them, the music mogul even offered to cover their travel, accommodation and security costs, yet the princes chose not to attend his parties.
Shuter said, “He thought of himself as a king so it makes perfect sense that he would like to have two princes in his entourage." He further mentioned that, although Diddy had no personal connections with the family, he still had large pictures of them in his New York home. Shuter highlighted that both Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex ever participated in Diddy’s wild celebrations.
Interestingly, during his appearance on The Graham Norton Show in 2011, Diddy discussed extending invitations to Prince Harry and Prince William. Speaking with the host, the rapper said, “Not anymore. Trust me they’re off the list but when they were young bucks, growing up and they were getting in a lot of trouble themselves, I was like, ‘Why don’t you come hang out with me.’ I’ve never met the Queen but I like to meet her. She doesn’t have to hang out with me but I could just go over for some tea or something."
In a recent interview with the BBC, Rob Shuter mentioned that Diddy always had guns present at his parties due to the presence of top Hollywood stars. He found this situation unusual. Shuter explained that security guards carried guns on their ankles. He highlighted that the rapper took his security and public image very seriously. According to Shuter, to be part of Diddy’s world, one had to be wealthy, there was no room for anyone who didn’t present themselves properly.
Shuter compared being part of Diddy’s team as like a circus and the rapper was their “ringmaster." Although the court has made some serious allegations against the singer, he has never seen any kind of inappropriate behaviour while working with him. Shuter feels that these new claims are shocking and disturbing.
