Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, ahead of the cabinet expansion on Monday, said that the new ministers’ council will work towards the betterment of the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior BJP leaders.
Yadav told reporters that the new cabinet ministers will be administered oath on Monday at 3:30 pm by Governor Mangubhai Patel.
“The new cabinet will work for the betterment of the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Bharatiya Janata Party president J P Nadda and state party chief VD Sharma,” the CM — who met BJP chief JP Nadda in Delhi on Sunday — said.
Sources told PTI that 28 ministers are likely to take oath as part of the expanded council of ministers.
However, CM Yadav refused to reveal the exact number and names of the MLAs to be inducted in cabinet. The state cabinet, headed by CM Mohan Yadav, has two deputy chief ministers, Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda.

The maximum strength of the council of ministers in Madhya Pradesh, which includes 230 MLAs — can be 35, including the Chief Minister. Preparations for the oath-taking ceremony are underway at the Raj Bhawan.
“After clinching a landslide victory under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our double engine government will move under his leadership and that of BJP chief JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah,” Yadav said on Sunday.
The Bharatiya Janata Party won 163 of the 230 seats, while Congress won 66 seats in the state assembly elections held last month. Yadav took oath as chief minister on December 13 along with Shukla and Devda, who were sworn in as his deputies.
