New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who is no stranger to controversy, stirred a hornets nest on Saturday after some students, taking part in an Independence Day parade, formed Kejriwal's name instead of any patriotic message.
Amidst mounting flak on social media, Kejriwal took to twitter to say he was told it's a practice to make a visual formation of the chief guest.
"I will put an end to it" said Kejriwal.
AAP also released pictures of similar formations spelling out former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and LG Najeeb Jung's names.
AAP government said that the governement has been following the practice of creating images, CM's name or Tiranga for the past many years at Independece Day.
Reacting to this former AAP leader Prashant Bhushan said, "This is height of sycophancy. The problem is that Kejriwal has surrounded himself with all the sycophant's who has made him realize that he is greater than God".
While citizens around the country remembered and saluted freedom fighters for India's independence struggle, many students in Delhi were seen holding placards of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the Chhatrasal stadium during the celebrations.
