KR Periakaruppan was minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment when the DMK was in power.
New Delhi: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) on Friday raided the residence of former DMK minister KR Periakaruppan in Tirupathur area of Sivaganga district in Tamil Nadu.
Periakaruppan was minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment in the DMK Cabinet when it was at the helm.
The raid was conducted after the DVAC received specific information that Periakaruppan had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, in his name and that of his family members.
