New Delhi: The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) will celebrate its 50th anniversary in November this year.
The party said on Sunday that a month-long campaign will be observed this year to popularize its ideology.
The CPI-M was founded in 1964 after the Communist Party of India, founded in 1925, split over Sino-Soviet differences.
The CPI-M ruled West Bengal from 1977 to 2011. It also commands a strong influence in Kerala and Tripura. But its tally in the Lok Sabha fell this year to just nine seats.
