New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to have made up its mind to expel Rajya Sabha MP Ram Jethmalani from the party, according to party sources.
"Jethmalani's open defiance seems to have forced BJP leadership to take action against him," BJP sources said.
This comes after Jethmalani asked the BJP's top leadership in Parliament to take a call on his suspension. He also accused the party brass of being soft on the UPA. Jethmalani, who has written a letter to Rajnath Singh, was suspended from the party for his attack on Nitin Gadkari earlier in 2012.
Jethmalani's tirade against the party leadership started with he and his son Mahesh seeking party president Nitin Gadkari's resignation over the Purti controversy.
Jethmalani then went on to question the two leaders of opposition Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley who wanted the appointment of the new CBI director be kept in abeyance in the wake of the Lokpal recommendations by the Rajya Sabha select committee.
