WB: Suspended TMC leader threatens hospital staff with gun
Ashis Dey entered into an argument with the hospital staff and allegedly brandished a revolver to threaten them.

Suri: A suspended TMC leader allegedly went inside a private hospital with firearms at Suri area in Birbhum district and threatened the staff after indulging in a verbal spat with them. In a compliant lodged by manager of the hospital it was alleged that a group, led by the leader Ashis Dey went inside the hospital building on Friday night. The "suspended" leader entered into an argument with hospital staff and allegedly brandished a revolver to threaten them.

Dey's act has been caught on CCTV, hospital managing director JP Khaitan said adding "he first started a verbal spat with our employees accompanied by a group who repeatedly pleaded with them to leave the hospital premises. Dey then suddenly whipped out a revolver and threatened our staff." Expressing dismay over the 'incident', TMC MP Shatabdi Roy said, "Ashis Dey is no more with our party. He was suspended a couple of years back."

To a question if a section of TMC leaders were still aiding the man, Roy said "this man is damaging the image of TMC. I would request everyone belonging to our organisation not to associate with such a person." Ghosh said, "Dey was declared suspended from the party by General Secretary Mukul Roy a couple of years back.

District unit president Anubrata Mondal, who had been accused by a section of aiding Ashish, said "he is not our district leader. Police should take appropriate action if he is found guilty."
