New Delhi: While the government has claimed that there is no loss due to coal blocks allocation, the BJP on Saturday slammed the UPA government and alleged that it is misguiding the nation by such statements.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley said once coal blocks are allotted then the right to mine is with the private companies and government has no say.
Jaitley called Finance Minister P Chidambaram's zero-loss theory on coal block allocation as 'preposterous', saying that the right to mine is with a private company once the block is allotted.
Jaitley further said that the coal which is inside the mother earth now belongs to the private companies.
The BJP leader said that the UPA is losing the confidence of the people. These kind of policies is actually a zero sum game for the UPA government itself, he added.
Jaitley said, "All NDA allies and the UPA allies have to decide if they are with corruption or against it. All political parties will have to make it clear on which side they are."
