218. Badnagar is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Ujjain (SC) Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Badnagar falls in Ujjain district and Malwa North region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.

There are a total of 1,87,833 voters in the seat, which includes 96,214 male voters, and 91,614 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Badnagar recorded a voter turnout of 82.48%. In 2013 the turnout was 79%, and in 2008 it was 76.77%.

In 2013, Mukesh Pandya of BJP won the seat by a margin of 13,135 votes (9.84%). Mukesh Pandya secured 43.97% of the total votes polled.

BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 6,070 votes (5.5%), registering 34.98% of the total votes polled.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP led in the Badnagar Assembly segment of the Ujjain (SC) Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
