Mumbai: After blackening the face of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ideologue Sudheendra Kulkarni for wanting to host the book launch of former Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri in Mumbai, the Pune unit of the Shiv Sena has now targeted young entrepreneur and Congress supporter Tehseen Poonawalla on his Facebook page- threatening him if he organises a Pakistan Food Festival in Pune.
The threat is made on Poonawalla's Facebook page from the account of Amar Bhosale, brother of the Shiv Sena working president in Pune Ajay Bhosale, a known history sheeter against whom several cases including extortion and attempt to murder are registered claims Tehseen Poonawalla.
Earlier as well, Poonawala was threatened by the Shiv Sena when they had asked him to stop wearing the Indian flag pin on his shirt at pubs and hotels.
Reacting to the controversy, Poonawalla who is regularly seen on news channels siding with the Congress said “believe the Shiv Sena are nothing but a bunch bullies. And they don't intimidate me. We are in the process of organising a food festival as the route to the heart is through the stomach and we hope once the visa formalities are complete - we can have talented Pakistan chefs cooking in India."
He further added, "this is not the first time the Shiv Sena has resorted to trying to intimidate me, I am going to meet the Pune Police Commissioner and lodge a complaint with him. I have also received a few abusive calls."
