Arvind Kejriwal says he had to leave the Janata Darbar as the crowd was uncontrollable and there was fear of a stampede.

New Delhi: 12:50 pm: Students of other states are now sitting in protest outside the Delhi Secretariat as they haven't been able to meet Manish Sisodia regarding reservations in Delhi University.

12:35 pm: Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed says trial and error keeps on happening. The number of people came more than expected.

12:22 pm: Law Minister Somnath Bharti is the only minister still listening to people at Janata Darbar while all others have left. He says he will take people's issues to the concerned ministry.

12:16 pm: Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti says many people have come to me with issues related to the MCD.

12:08 pm: Delhi Women and Child Welfare minister Rakhi Birla leaves the Janata Darbar.

11:57 am: While Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia left Janata Darbar midway, other ministers are still at work here.

11:52 am: Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi hits out at Arvind Kejriwal and his team for addressing people from the rooftop of Delhi Secretariat. She tweets, "For god's sake, Arvind and Team, Secretariats are not run from Rooftops. Please take time to listen/absorb. And then take considered decisions."

11:45 am: Arvind Kejriwal comes back to the Janata Darbar with Manish Sisodia. Addressing the people from the rooftop of Delhi Secretariat, the chief minister apologises for mismanagement. He says there will be no Janata Darbar for at least 5-6 days and left the venue.

11:30 am: Arvind Kejriwal returns to the venue.

11:25 am: Delhi Labour Minister Girish Soni says the huge number of people explains how the past governments were a failure.

11:20 am: Former IPS Kiran Bedi tweets, "Governance demands solid maturity of governance and administration which institutionalizes change Secretariat is meant for! Not streets always!"

11:12 am: People, not getting a chance to meet the concerned ministers, are taking their issues to all ministry desks randomly, hoping to be heard.

11:04 am: Kejriwal says he has to leave Janata Darbar midway as crowd was uncontrollable. "There was fear of a stampede. Better arrangements have to be made as I did not expect such turnout. Many people came to congratulate me."

10:59 am: There are AAP volunteers at the Janata Darbar listening to people who are not hopeful of getting a chance to make it to any of the desks. These volunteers are assuring them that their issues will reach CM Arvind Kejriwal.

10:45 am: Education Minister Manish Sisodia leaves Janata Darbar.

10:26 am: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal leaves Janata Darbar, say security personnel. Other ministers continue to meet people.

10:10 am: Being pushed by the crowd, some people have decided to leave the venue without any hope of meeting the Delhi Cabinet at Janata Darbar.

10:04 am: Employees from an Okhla factory say they they haven't been paid wages for a year and want Kejriwal to give them an audience.

10:02 am: The largest crowd is at the table where Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is sitting.

There has been a swell in the number of people and the road is jam packed with people coming in with banners, posters and shouting slogans.

9:59 am: Chaos at Janata Darbar. Some people have broken barricades in their eagerness to meet the CM and ministers.

9:50 am: People fighting for their pensions complain to CM Arvind Kejriwal.

9:42 am: Even before Kejriwal took over as the chief minister he used to hold his Janata Darbar at Kaushambhi, Ghaziabad.

9:40 am: People are directed to different ministries depending on the nature of the complaint and will be dealt on the basis of its immediacy.

Seven complaint boxes have been placed in which people can post their grievances and complaints.

9:38 am: Thousands of people are present and each one wants a chance to speak to the Delhi Cabinet.

9:35 am: All the ministers take their seats at Janata Darbar. Meeting begins.

9:22 am: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal arrives for Janata Darbar

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with his Cabinet ministers on Saturday will address grievances of the people at a Janata Darbar outside Delhi Secretariat. It is Kejriwal's first Janata Darbar after he assumed office. Kejriwal said the Delhi Cabinet will engage in this exercise every Saturday morning.

Security has been increased for the event and the road in front of the Secretariat has been closed till 11 am. One DCP, three ACPs, four inspectors, 50 odd Delhi policemen are being deployed. One company of Shashatra Seema Bal is also deployed.

Health and Industries Minister Satyendra Jain will not be able to attend the meet as his mother passed away.

As the Aam Aadmi Party's experiment with governance continues, the party has also launched a massive membership drive that aims to enroll a crore members in just 17 days. According to the party, in the first few hours more than 48,000 people signed up.
