A video which is currently doing rounds on social media features Muttiah Muralitharan and Indian podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia. The video is from Ranveer’s recent podcast with the Sri Lankan cricket coach. For those who don’t know, his podcast is called The Ranveer Show and it hosts high-profile guests, including many Bollywood actors, politicians, paranormal investigators, astrologers, and many more. The episodes discuss a couple of subjects starting from relationships, self-improvement to spirituality. This time, the guest was Muralitharan in Ranveer’s cricket special episode.

The video which is doing rounds has both of them discussing Indian batsman Virat Kohli. It has garnered traction due to the topic of discussion, which is, when can the batsman retire. Ranveer has mentioned multiple times that Kohli happens to be one of his idols.
Here, in the video, Ranveer says that the fans believe he has at least 10 years to go. “10 years is difficult because he is already 35-36,” says Muralitharan. Explaining further, he says, “How fit you are does not matter. Your eyesight, your things will slow down. Once you slow down, you’re not going to be the same personality.”

The video, since being uploaded, has garnered multiple responses from fans. “Yes eyesight is a huge thing when it comes to batting , you have to see the hand of the bowler to judge delivery which will be coming to you within a fraction of a second!” commented a Reddit user. Another person wrote, “Reflex and having to manage the knees also is an issue, there’s a reason why rarely you see people playing high fitness sports post 35-40.”

One Reddit user commented, “I just realized he is gonna be aged 35 this November, I’m Imagining the day he would play his last match ohh man so emotional moments those would be.”
