The Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is working on new text formatting tools for messaging. This feature helps users customize their messages with creative formatting to make their expression stand out.
“Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.21.3 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is also working on introducing new text formatting tools for messaging to a future update of the Android app,” WABetaInfo reported.
The report revealed that the Meta-owned app is working on introducing new formatting options to the Android app. The screenshot shared by WABetaInfo provided precise details about the upcoming text formatting tools and how to use them. Here are some formatting tools which will be rolled out soon for messaging
– Code block: It is designed to enhance the convenience of sharing and reading lines of code within WhatsApp. It’s usually used by software engineers and programmers, but users can also apply this tool to highlight a specific portion of the message. The backtick character will be needed to use this formatting tool.
– Quote block: It’s used to reply to a specific portion of a message. You will be able to apply this formatting tool by using the character “>”.
– Lists: It’s used to organise information in a structured and ordered manner. The text should start with an asterisk, a hyphen, and it also supports numbered lists.
“WhatsApp is actively exploring new text formatting tools in order to enhance the user experience when sharing messages. Their efforts are designed to provide users with better and easier ways to format their messages in different situations, making WhatsApp definitely more efficient for communicating, whether it’s for casual chats or professional discussions,” WABetaInfo said.
According to the report, new text formatting tools for messaging are under development and they will be available in a future update of the app.
