'Virat Kohli With the Assist..': David Beckham Plays Football With Indian Players Ahead of WC Semifinal | WATCH
David Beckham shared a video of him playing football with Virat Kohli before India's World Cup 2023 semifinal against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium.

David Beckham enjoyed a mini-football session with Indian players, and the legendary footballer posted a video on his Instagram stories, wherein he received an ‘assist’ from Virat Kohli. The legendary Manchester United and Real Madrid footballer attended the India vs New Zealand World Cup semifinal fixture at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Beckham arrived in India as part of a three-day trip as the official ambassador of UNICEF, and before the start of the high-octane semifinal, Beckham enjoyed a friendly pass-the-ball session with Indian players who were seen warming up near the boundary ropes.

With Sachin Tendulkar standing beside him, David Beckham walked onto the outfield on Wankhede when he received the pass from Virat. The star footballer received the ball and passed it back to Kohli, who returned the ball back to David and it went back to another Indian player.  The former England international shared a video of his passing exchanges with the Indian team on his Instagram story, giving a shoutout to Kohli.

Meanwhile, the Indian team were off to a breathtaking start in the semifinal after Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first. While the Indian captain himself scored a brisk 29-ball 47, Shubman Gill smashed a half-century, followed by Virat and Shreyas Iyer’s fifties.

Gill was retired hurt after picking up a niggle while running between the wickets, but Iyer and Kohli kept the Indian team on top of New Zealand’s bowlers.

India crossed the 250-run mark with Virat nearing his record 50th ODI century, that would see him become the first player in the world with a half-century of hundreds in ODIs, one more than Sachin Tendulkar.
