Pakistanis are Bamboozled Over iPhone 15 Costing Rs 7 Lakh and Indians Have Entered Chat
Pakistan woman took to 'X' and shared how an iPhone 15 pro max costs a whopping Rs 7.3 Lakh in her country. Here is what Indians have to say.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max is the company’s most expensive iPhone model launched so far. With 1TB storage, the product is the top of the line variant of the flagship Apple iPhone 15 series which debuted on September 12. Naturally, the price of the product varies in different countries. While it is priced at Rs. 1,59,000 in India, the same product is priced for over Rs. 6 lakh (PKR) in Pakistan! Now, that’s a lot! Even an ‘X’ user Pallavi Pandey took to the micro-blogging site and shared a post about the same. “Insane but also true that Apple iPhone 15 pro max costs Rs 7.3 lakh (PKR) in Pakistan,” wrote Pandey.

The post went viral immediately and it has Indians drawing comparisons about the massive difference in the price range. This difference comes in as a few nations have gone through major economic crises due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, according to reports, a new Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB variant in Pakistan is well over Rs. 7.3 lakh (PKR).

The post, since being uploaded, has gathered over 281K views. “Not sure about the mobile data charges to use-it there , i think its around 300 rs for 1gb,” commented an ‘X’ user. Another person explained, “1 Pak rupee = 0.28 Indian rupee. So 7,50,000 × 0.28 = 2,10,000 too expensive even for us. Maybe they are charging extra taxes.”

Some even shared how buying a car in India is cheaper than a bike in Pakistan.

Indeed, mobile phones have become significantly expensive in Pakistan, primarily due to the imposition of substantial import duties and taxes on these devices. With that even the already-expensive iPhone has now eluded the grasp of the average Pakistani. As a matter of fact, the iPhone 15 is set to hit the market with a staggering price tag of Rs. 7 lakhs, and without factoring in taxes, it still commands a hefty cost of Rs. 5 lakhs.

To put this into perspective, the price of an iPhone 15 is equivalent to the cost of a short educational degree program, roughly equivalent to the value of 4 tola of gold in the local market, or even comparable to the price of a modest second-hand car!
