Pakistan PM Holds Afghan Taliban Responsible for Growing TTP Attacks; Kabul Rejects Charge | Exclusive Details
Pakistan's caretaker prime minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said that his country had experienced a 60% increase in terror incidents and a 500% rise in suicide bombings since the Taliban returned to power in Kabul two years ago

Pakistan’s caretaker prime minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in a press conference openly told Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban to choose between bilateral ties and the TTP militant outfit. He said that two thousand Pakistanis have lost their lives due to terror activities.

Kakar said that his country had experienced “a 60% increase in terror incidents and a 500% rise in suicide bombings”, killing nearly 2,300 Pakistanis, since the Taliban returned to power in Kabul two years ago.

According to him, 15 Afghan nationals were among the suicide bombers, while 64 Afghans were killed fighting Pakistani security forces this year.

He said that Pakistan had provided all the information related to terrorism to the Afghan government, but no action had been taken by the Taliban regime so far.

Islamabad has also requested the Taliban regime to extradite all individuals wanted by Pakistan for involvement in terrorism.

Pakistan will not look back into the matter of refugees and is within its rights to extradite Afghan citizens, Kakar said.

Top Afghan sources told CNN-News18 that what Pakistan is saying is absolutely wrong.

“They are responsible for all terror activities in the region,” said an official. They want control over the Durand Line and want negotiations. We have promised the world that we will not allow our soil to be used by anyone for terror and we still maintain that.”

Chief Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid too rejected Kakar’s allegations, saying his government is not responsible for maintaining peace in Pakistan, nor is it behind the insecurity in the neighbouring country.

He also expressed his government’s aspiration for the same level of peace and stability in Pakistan as in Afghanistan.

Mujahid reaffirmed the long-standing stance of the Taliban, asserting that they do not permit the use of Afghan territory against Pakistan.

In a similar vein, he provided assurance that all weapons in Afghanistan are under the control of the government and there is no possibility of theft or smuggling.
