Of the 199 assembly seats in the state, the BJP is leading on 94 and has won 20. The Congress is leading on 63 seats and has won seven seats, as of 3.30 pm.

Taking the lead

The BJP MPs who are leading are Rajyavardhan Rathod from Jhotwara, Kirodi Lal Meena from Sawai Madhopur, and Baba Balaknath from Tijara. Meanwhile, Diya Kumari has won the poll from the Vidyadhar Nagar seat.

The remaining three – Narendra Kumar from Mandawa, Bhagirath Choudhary from Kishangarh, and Devji Patel from Sanchore – were trailing as of the latest figures available at 3.30 pm.

Rathod was leading with a margin of about 50,000 votes against Congress candidate Abhishek Choudhary after 23 rounds of counting. The BJP lawmaker had bagged over 1.46 lakh votes while the Congress candidate had secured around 96,000. Jhotwara was won by the BJP in 2008 and 2013, but the Congress took it away in 2018.

A traditional BJP seat, Vidhyadhar Nagar has again voted for the saffron party with Diya Kumari already sweeping the poll by a margin of over

71,000 votes. She secured 1.58 lakh votes against Congress candidate Sitaram Agarwal with 87,148 votes. Since 2008, the constituency has been with the BJP.

In Sawai Madhopur, BJP’s Kirodi Lal Meena is leading with an 18,458-vote margin after 15 rounds of counting out of 19. He has secured nearly 61,000 votes. Congress candidate Danish Abrar has bagged 42,117 votes so far.

In Tijara, there was a close fight between the Congress and BJP in the initial rounds of counting. However, now Balak Nath from the BJP is ahead with 1.07 lakh votes in his account. Imran Khan from the Congress is trailing with 11,417 fewer votes at 95,921 votes. In 2018, the Congress won the seat, while before that, in 2013, BJP bagged it.

The Congress is leading in Mandawa with Kumari Rita Chaudhary ahead by about 18,717 votes. She has bagged 98,747 votes. BJP’s Narendra Kumar has secured 80,030 votes after 22 rounds of counting out of 22. Chaudhary won the seat in the 2019 bypolls as well while Kumar was elected in 2018.

In Sanchore, independent candidate Jiva Ram is leading by 1,302 votes as he got 83,718 votes. The Congress is in second position with Sukhram Vishnoi, who was elected in 2013 and 2018, bagging 82,416 votes after 18 rounds of counting out of 21. BJP MP Devji Patel has got 27,326 votes.

In Kishangarh as well, BJP MP Bhagirath Choudhary is in third position with 36,291 votes. Congress candidate Vikash Choudhary is leading with 81,872 votes in his account. Independent candidate Suresh Tak is in second position with more than 77,935 votes in his account in 19 rounds of counting. In 2018, it was Tak who bagged the seat.
